ENGLISH TEACHING ASSISTANT TEACHING ASSISTANT PROGRAM IN FRANCE Sept 2017 – April 2018

Employed by the French department of education, I assisted English teachers at two middle schools in Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle, France (Collège Andre Malraux and Collège Max Jacob). Responsibilities included practicing conversation with students aged 11 to 16, preparing supplementary documents and activities for the classroom, and teaching about English-speaking communities. Led an English club at Andre Malraux and an English-language theater club at Max Jacob.

MEMBER CULTURAL PROGRAMMING COMMITTEE, HIGH POINT UNIVERSITY 2016-2017

Worked alongside HPU teachers as a student representative to help plan and approve of different cultural activities and speakers that came to HPU.

RESEARCH STUDENT HIGH POINT UNIVERSITY Summer 2015

Conducted research under an HPU English professor about the French influences on the English opera, Dido and Aeneas. The article I wrote based on this research was published in 2016.

EDITOR: ENTERTAINMENT SECTION THE WILDCAT ROAR 2013-2014

Created the Entertainment section of the student-run newspaper for Westminster Christian Academy based in St. Louis, USA (The Wildcat Roar). Responsibilities included editing the design, layout, and text of articles, as well as consulting with staff writers about their work.

STAFF WRITER AND ILLUSTRATOR THE WILDCAT ROAR 2012-2013

Conducted interviews, photographed, wrote, edited, and collaborated with other student journalists. As an illustrator, I consulted with the staff writer about their creative vision, and then created original cartoons, graphics, and caricatures using Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0.
